My Challenge – Go Plastics Free on a 5-Day Trip

I Tried to Go Plastics-Free On a 5-Day Trip Wins, Losses and Those Damn Plastic Straws The Challenge I recently detailed a cross-country trip that opened my eyes to how difficult it is to travel and be environmentally-friendly. Two weeks later, armed with more knowledge and reusable products, my wife and I are traveling again. This time, our destination is Victoria, BC, which is 6-hour drive/ferry combo from our home. This is my account of trying to avoid single-use plastics, recycle, and generally not add to the trashing of our planet. Warning: it isn’t always pretty. The First 24 Hours We...

Confessions of a Conflicted Traveler

My wife, Vicki, and I recently took a 2-week trip back east to visit her parents and see some historic sites.  Vicki had long wanted to take me on a cross-country train trip, so we decided to indulge and take the train back, after flying out.  We had a private sleeping cabin, meals included, and it was a really fun experience.  This isn’t about that though. A Sloth, A Marine Iguana, A Tapir and a Rhino Walk Into YouTube

So, this week the gang and I are launching our first YouTube video! We’ve never done this before, so this is new and exciting and a tad-bit nerve-wracking.  The first video is supposed to be about – no, I won’t tell you here. Just go and watch it, OK? That would be awesome! I don’t even have a link to share quite yet, but I suspect if you do a search on “Endangered Species Superheroes” you will find it! In the first few videos I experiment with different styles because I am not sure what people will most enjoy seeing.  I plan on blending some day-to-day...
